Clinch Mnt Backstep- Part 1

This is a 60 minute Zoom workshop from 9-5-24. Clinch Mountain Backstep is a legendary banjo tune written by the great Ralph Stanley. Its bluesy melody lends itself perfectly to the Dobro. This series of classes will start with the melody and chords (part 1). Then I'll walk you through my process for adding rolls to the "B" section with different patterns to create different feels, and we'll build a vocabulary of licks with a focus on using them to target the essential melody notes. (parts 2,3,&4) Class goals: learn how to find the melody, add embellishments, build lick vocabulary, and improvise around the melody with licks.
