This is a 60 minute Zoom workshop from 7-14-24. Big Sciota is one of my favorite tunes to play. Made popular by Jerry Douglas, Russ Barenberg, and Edgar Meyer from their album Skip, Hope, & Wobble, it's taken hold as a standard bluegrass instrumental. It's a two part tune in the key of G that lays out well on the Dobro. This class covers the simple version of the melody that sounds great at quicker tempos, laying the foundation to add hammer-on and pull-off flourishes inspired by Jerry Douglas (covered in part 2).
